The election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris represents the biggest mandate for bold climate action in American history. President-Elect Biden ran on the boldest presidential climate plan ever, and received the most votes ever. Running on a bold climate agenda, Joe Biden flipped red states from the Rust Belt to the Sun Belt.

Now, Joe Biden has a clear mandate to make his climate plan a reality. The Biden-Harris plan will move America to a 100% clean energy standard by 2035, invest $2 trillion in clean energy, and ensure that 40% of investments go to disadvantaged communities. Never before has a presidential nominee put forward an agenda which so fully meets the scale of the climate crisis.

Running a climate campaign put Joe Biden over the top in key battleground states. He made climate action a part of his closing pitch, and ran historic climate-focused ads in pivotal states like Michigan and Arizona. Joe Biden ran on climate more than nearly any other candidate across the country. And he won. Now, it’s time to act.

It’s time for America to deliver on the long-needed mobilization to defeat the climate crisis. The Biden Administration has a mandate to use any tool in the toolbox to tackle the climate crisis — including executive actions and bold legislation. The next four years will require aggressive action from lawmakers at every level of government, including states, cities, and localities, and all Americans. Evergreen is ready to take all the necessary steps to ensure that happens.
